Can anyone direct me to a well written "easy to understand" article or study on heterosis, including the effects of a first and second cross. Also I would sure like to hear anecdotel evidence to substantiate the effects within a given herd or breeding program.
The easy to understand part is kinda important as I am not the brightest bulb nor is the person that I am trying to explain it to. As is apparent by my username I am a believer in the 3waycross,as I believe it is superior to breeding a crossbred bull to a crossbred cow. This is not to say I don't believe in Balancers whatever the cross. I just think they should be bred to purebred cows or a purebred bull to crossbred cows. Thanks in advance for your help.
