Hernia??

:help: I'm new to having cows and just wanted to know if this was a hernia and if its fatal? I felt it today and it doesn't have any fluid in it. Its just two flaps of skin with what feels like the belly button in it. She is only a heifer(almost a year old).

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

A hernia isn't necessarily fatal.

My calf is a five year old cow now (cull unfortunately, silly creature is cycling this morning). Her hernia resolved itself as she grew, after the vets' attempts to put it back where it should be failed. I've heard of others the same - grew into big cows with no problems.
