May be a little far for you, but Sandhill Farms has a sale March 24th in Haviland, Kansas. Great bulls from a great and proven program.
Yessir, Oklahoma is as far as I have found my dumbass will drive to buy cattle. And that didn't work out well for me at all. I think I'll keep it in the great state of Texas for now. Thanks for letting me know about that one though.

https://hereford.org/marketing/hereford ... -catalogs/

Doesn't look like anything in TX on the calendar coming up though. I'll ditto MRR, Sandhill is a quality program and they offer free delivery within the US on any purchase so that is quite a benefit if you would have to pay for trucking an animal long distance. Also read their letter on one of the first pages of the catalog, this is a statement you want to see any reputable breeder stand by: "We want everything to be right about every animal we sell. If something is not right, we would like the
opportunity to fix it and make it right."

What I also like about their sale is they scan all their sale cattle and put all their production data out there for all to see so there is nothing to hide. If you look through their sale catalog they do a great job balancing both carcass traits along with maternal traits I think.

Will there be a chance to buy via online viewing or in person only?

Well, what's the lunch special on sale day? Didn't have anything I needed to come home with at the Caldwell sale.

No Florence/lampasas area.
House line is a 512

I have decided that a Hereford bull is the easiest and most flexible breed of bull to use.

A Hereford bull can:

With Hereford -- produce more Herefords, of course.
With Brangus -- Super Baldies
With black Angus and some other black cows -- Black Baldies
With red Angus and some other red cows -- Red Baldies
With Charolais -- Yellow Baldies
With Brahman -- Tigerstripe/Braford

There are probably other good crosses also. But Hereford, Angus, Brangus, Charolais, and Brahman are some of the most popular breeds here in Texas and replacement heifers can be easily purchased, if needed.

Later those crossed heifers can be bred to a continental bull, such as a Simmental or Limousin, if desired, for a good three-way cross.
