it depends some on what you plan to do with the calves... if you want good replacement cows.. some like the hereford - brahma cross to get f1 tigerstipes.. if you are selling calves.. it is hard to beat the black white face from the hereford - black angus cross..
and i am sure others have favorites totally different from mine.. so it comes down to a matter of personal preference..
I really like the Fleckveih simmental and hereford cross..the calves finish out very nicely and the heifers make excellent replacement cows!! They also do well in the commercial show ring! Wildrose Ranches
