Hen's eggs

Thanks folks....one other thing; has anyone noticed any difference in the flavor or quality of a unfertilized egg as compared to fertilized one? Haven't run hens since my mother passed on and its a learning experience all over.

That tiny little rooster track could hardly make a difference. Now if you set it under a hen for a week then eat it there would be a difference

Free range chooks are the way to go. Our chooks produce nice yellow yolked eggs. The store bought battery type ones are very pale.

I heard chickens out on the range that are mostly bug-fed have the best tasting eggs.

I can't ever find eggs from the rangies.

We wedge a few straw filled baskets up the trees near where they roost. If you let them hatch, it's amazing to see Momma coax them down. Like jumping off a cliff :shock:
