I know everyone has different opinions on these things but would a longhorn steer be good if he was processed? Any recommendations on what to do to get them ready to go be slaughtered? I know you have to finish them out but anything other than that? I have a chance to get some steers that are not far off from being ready for $400 so just thought I would get everyone's opinion on this breed? IF you don't recommend them what breed would you pick and why. Thanks

longhorns are good eating.their meat is nice an lean.with very little fat on the meat.you just have to decide if their worth finishing out an butchering.

Chad for whatever it's worth, saw some longhorn steers sell the other day for $.45 a pound..400 lbs.......do the math.
