Help: hoof loss

Please provide any info on the cause and any possible remedy to ease the pain for one cow who has lost her hooves.<br>I pasture my neighbors cows to suppliment his grazing area. One cow lost her hooves and is in much pain. They (neighbor)tried to pen her but all she did was beller for want to be with the herd so now with the rest, she hurts so much to walk by the time she gets to area to graze the herd has moved on, causing her to eat very little. : Do you know why she lost her hoof. Did she lose them all? We had a cow this summer and she stayed in the soft ground. We made sure she has extra food. The vet gave her cortizone once and banamine. Penicillin for a while. It finally grew back. Will she stay if you put another cow with her.
