HELP....4-H steer sick....What can I do?

My steer has the runs real bad and a very snotty nose. He also has crud around his eyes. What can I do 2 help him? THANKS

First off, does he have BVD or IBR? If he's properly vaccinated it's unlikely. If he does, he needs to see the vet ASAP. If he doesn't, he still sounds like he needs to see one. The runs could be minor to life threatening, the crust around the eyes could be a sign of illness or serious disease.....just antibiotics may not do enough, and you could end up with a ruined or dead steer.
