How long do heifers need to be seperated before they can be returned to pasture with momma cow and at what age should you breed? Thanks!!

i have heard all kinds of answers from 2weeks - i suggest wait till the cow is dry before. because i seen them go right back to mama, if she is dry she will kick them away.
i breed heifers from 14 months to 18 months depending on how big they are, to calve at 2 years they need to be 15 months.
