heifer won't gain weight

I bought a heifer about two months ago. She was poor. She has been eating grain and grass. She eats constantly, yet she has not gained a pound. She is so poor that her ribs are showing. I have wormed her but still no weight gain. What could be wrong?

Have a good vet chekc her out. There are so many things that could be wrong, from inadequate nutrition to disease.

In which part of the country are you located? And had she been drinking from stagnant pond water, living in a marshy area, etc.? And what particular worming product did you use? I've had situations in the past where wormers like Safeguard and "plain" Ivomec just didn't help an animal that was sufferfing from liver flukes. For liver flukes you need to worm with Valbazene or Ivomec F (IvomecPlus)
