I have a bred Heifer that is approximately 19 months old that has a snotty nose and sounds rattly in her nose. I am in Indiana it is summer, can cattle have a dust allergy or others or if it is something else what maybe possibly would it be? She doesn't seem to have a loss of appetite or stay away from the herd. I am puzzled.

Does she have a fever? Is the 'snot' clear, yellow, whitish, greenish, thick, watery? Is she current/up to date with vaccinations? Has she been 'exposed' to new stock recently? Does she cough? Howabout her eyes? Runny, normal?

Could be allergies, could be dust, could be one of any/many type of respiratory illness.

Katherine is right, it could be any number of things. If you answer her questions ~ we will be better able to help you. Is important to note if the snot is clear or not. Clear snot is not something I would concern myself with if it is the only condition your heifer presents with.
