She is due with her first calf in a month or so. This weekend I noticed she wasnt moving as much. I thought she was sick. Turns out its her back left hoof. She is very tame so I can do olot with her. I pushed and squeezed up and down her leg and no sore spots. Its seems to be right above her last joint down there(?ankle?) or the hoof. She will lift up her hoof for me but didnt want to dig in like a horse incase she kicked sideways. Is there anything to look for? doesnt look swollen. She walks but its real slow?

Sounds like the start of foot rot ,good time of year for it.

Hit her with a long acting pen and an anti inflammatory she should be better in a couple of days.

The last cow that came up lame at my place had a roofing nail in the soft part of her hoof. Before I started treating one for an infection, I would check her out pretty closely for some sort of foreign object.

I would give it a few days. Cattle can sprain an ankle just like people can.
