... and it seemed like they were showing like that for a month too. It's best not to even look at them.

That is kind of odd to because our straight Brahmans rarely show much. You just walk up one day and boom... they have a baby in towe.

Had a simmental cow that swelled that way one time, had twins that year. Was the only time she ever got that big on the back end.

I expect this heifer to domino any day now but she has been bagged up and swollen up for a month. Today she was exceptionally big.

Some definitely get flabbier butts than others... If I'm certain of their breeding date and they're getting overdue I'll give them a couple CC of dex and hurry them along a bit

Yeah, that's the dose I give.. I haven't really noticed any downsides as long as you know they have the colostrum ready to feed the calf
There was an article on it somewhere.. Dex is an immune system suppressant, though I don't think a single dose does much, it's more extended dosing
