Heifer calved yesterday

She is the one I mentioned on another thread that appeared pregnant when turning the replacements out with the bulls so we kept her back. She is 470 days (15 1/2 months or so) old, gave birth unassisted to a bull calf I'm guessing 70 lbs. Appears to be a natural born mother. All's well that ends well I guess.
Kinda kicking myself for not taking a photo. Maybe tomorrow.

I think I will winter her and turn her out with the bulls next spring. That should give her time to recover and be in good shape to breed back to be in time with the herd.

Good news! We also gave our 15 months old moms some time to grow and they were bred again in the following year. Both turned into fine cows
