Heifer calf with small bald spots and little white bugs

My one 8 month old heifer has developed some small bald spots and she has some little white bugs on her. What is it? Lice?

What is the best treatment to get rid of it?

Sounds like lice to me. Go to the co-op and get yourself a conatiner of pesticide dust. There are several different brands, just be sure to read the label for rate of application. That should take care of the problem.

I prefer liquid pour-ons. They act like the dog flea and tick stuff and actaully spread out within the skin

I did pour some Cydectin on about 5 days ago. The bottle was new and un opened, but it was about 4 months out of date? Not sure it that would make a difference? What other kind of liquid or powder should I use?

I would think you should be starting to see some results from it by now. We use Ultraboss for external parasites.

i have the same problem every Spring. my approach is to spray the cattle with PERMETHRIN and inject them with NOROMECTIN. it works for me...
