Heifer Calf Discount

It appears that the heifer discount this year is much less than it was last fall - - running about 7 cents per pound. What are you seeing in your local sales?

Running about .10 here but that is about normal. Seems like the bigger heifers might be a little less.

 

[Alberta farmer]

Right around 10 cents on calves. About 7 cents on yearlings in that 800 weight range, narrows as they close in on 1000 lbs.
