heifer acting weird

I have this first calf heifer when I went out to the barn she was panting and drewing like crazy like something was stuck in her troat so I let her in and gave her grain she ate that just fine and seemed to stop when I let her out but it was getting dark and she took off to the pasture any ideas of what it could be I will look at her closely tonight too :roll: :roll:

Yes, she could have had something irritating her mouth - would explain the drooling - but not the panting. I would be concerned with respiratory problems. When you check her, stay back & watch her - see if her ears are up and she is breathing normal. Cattle tend to "change" their behavior when they know you are around.

That is what I was thinking but then she came in and gobbled up her grain with no problems
