I had one years ago and hated it as I stayed cold all the time. It recirculated the room temp air and there was always moving air in the place. It reminded me of have the ceiling fan on while the heater was off. I was pretty glad when it bit the dust and I went back to conventional heat.
We had one once too. In the summer we still had to run the aux air and in the winter we had to run the aux heat.

Same here. We used a heat pump as our primary heat source for a few years, never again. Never could get the house warm, and the electric bills were sky high. They might be fine for warmer climates, but you couldn't give me another one.

We put an outdoor wood furnace in a few years back, wish we'd have done it 10 years ago. Dollar-wise, it'll take 10 years to break even, but it's no comparison as far as comfort. Plus it'll burn most anything I can shove through the door - netwrap, trash, pine trees, etc.
