Header rebuild or not

I have an CaseIH 8840 windrower that is in need of a header rebuild. It would cost somewhere around $6300 to rebuild it. Now I need to decide if I am going to rebuild it or do I send this 34 year old machine down the road. The tractor part of it is in pretty good shape.

I'm not even sure I could find a new header for that old machine.

Guess i meant a new machine, not just a new header. But if the tractor part is still good it might be worth rebuilding.

I could not buy a new machine for that it would cost me to fix it. I'm leaning towards fixing it even though it is 34 years old. At least I know what is wrong with this one. I buy another one and I don't know if there is anything wrong with it. A couple years ago I had the hydraulic pump replaced, that was pretty pricy. I probably should have traded it off about three years ago, just before I started putting a bunch of money into it.
