In the attached link is a excel program/spreadshhet that calculates how much of what is needed for varies cows. By plugging in your different hay/grain/supplement options it will tell you how much you need. You can then figure out on your feed availablity and costs what is most economic for you. brome --it seems to me the best hay to feed to any of these 3 kinds, it has enough protein that you don't have to feed as much other mixed grains to get the maintain or gain your looking for. for example with feeding brome round bales in the winter you only need to feed 2.5 lbs of alfalfa and 1 pound of rolled milo to have a bred cow maintain thru the winter--good luck
