A couple of things I descovered about storing hay in a shed for a couple of years. #1 is no biggy but the top taps get coverd with coon/possum crap. The second is that the bottom bales get pretty well torn up by the groundhogs burrowing under them and other critters building nests in the bottom bales. Makes them darn hard even with net to pick up and transport.

Get a dog as Steve said. My Cur runs loose and around the farm and I don't have that problem and keeps the cats away.

The weanie dog burrows in between the bales but hasn;t run anything out. If it's skunks I don;t want her to. If it's rats or mice (dam big nests for mice) that would explain why the cats are always hangin around in there.
