We have a couple hay fields next to the river that were flooded for a day or so about a week ago. The ground is dried out now and the grass looks ok, just dirty/dusty in spots. Is there any potential risk to feeding this out for hay if we mow and bale it? That's assuming the cows would eat it.

I had a place that flooded 2 to 5 times a year. Never had any issues. The old man that lived next to me said "lucky you, you get everyone else's fertilizer."
He was right. it grew grass all summer. If you bale it, it will have a bunch of sticks, flotsam and trash in it but it will make good hay.

Thank you all for the input. We usually don't have problems with flooding in our area, so I wasn't sure.
