I am looking to add 40 acres and possibly 20 nest to it for hay production. The field is mostly bermuda that has been used soley for hay production. Most cuttings round hay and maybe 1 cutting for square for horse people. My question is what would you do to make this as good a field as you could. I would like to plant rancho frio or cheyenne in it next year. Would you just spray it and overseed common or is disking the field up and using a drill to seed. I want the best grass I can produce and cost isn't a concern. I am worried if I am spending to much time trying to improve it only to have it resort back to common anyway. I already have 40 acres that is sprigged and it is hard to keep it clean. These new hybrids are supposed to produce 2-3 times the grass per acre. Also I have heard about a roundup ready bermuda. AAnybody used it yet.
