Having trouble finding the teet

Help Support CattleToday:

Thanks. Momma is making so much milk that it is squirting out the rears when she walks. So she's got some built in pressure relief valves in action.
It might be good to partially drain her bag then. The Hancock Co-Op should have the tubes. Plastic, throw away, and cheap. Sure beats milking her by hand.

Good idea. I've been milking them down a little. But couldn't help but wonder if I should be or not. Figure it was keeping mastitis away?

The least used quarter has been a bit red. But flows fine and the milk looks normal. Calf latched to it and drank for 30 seconds. Then couldn't get back on it. Cows leg wouldn't move.

If calf doesn5 figure it out by .Monday. I'm selling as a bottle calf. Momma can fill an October appointment.

Selenium is purchased thru a vet. All these supplements that say they have SE in it - doesn't have enough to do squat if you have a SE problem. I give every calf born a Multimin90 shot at birth work up. You can also use BoSe or MuSe from vet.
Who is the sire of your bottle teat cow? I can't remember the last time I had bad teats like that.

My problem is **** udders as they age on this set of paternal sisters. Half are doing it.

He's nursing on his own now I do believe.

While in chute I tried to let him nurse and he maybe drank for 30 seconds and went and laid down.

Gonna let the quarter die off so long as it doesn't become life threatening.
