Have you ever been up in your tree stand and...

Help Support CattleToday:

I never had any real excitement in a tree stand, but I called a coyote into a ground blind in the middle of a cedar tree turkey hunting. That got pretty exciting real quick as we found ourselves inside the same cutout cedar. I saw his break lights come on, but he couldn't get it shut down. I pulled a Bez and stepped on his toes... on accident as I crawled over him on the way out. Boy it was smelly for a moment and I didn't know who to blame.

Never had a cat in my stand. But I did have a owl land on my head. And somehow my rifle hit the ground and I stayed on the tree.

I had an barred owl come in somehow right behind me never heard a sound until he went into that hollering hoot they do.
The only thing kept me in the tree was the safety harness.
Most people have just heard them do that normal 8 or nine "my wife cooks for me--who cooks for you all" hoot. But I know the one you're talking about--It's that almost growling racket that comes before /\ one. I've seen it run some city folks back in their cars.

Someone say Cat for lunch?
