Had a few young bulls picked to keep. Just right before I got them up to wean the best one got injured a bit. Looks like it may be in the hip or upper right back leg. Nothing swollen I could see. He walks pretty straight and puts weight on it. Changing directions and backing up is where you notice it, the right leg will x or get close to the left his rear looks like it will tip over. I went ahead and weaned him with the other 3 hoping if it was nerve damage or something he'd straighten out. He's doing well eating and pasturing with his brothers. Some days I think he looks fine and would make a herd sire but then with closer inspection or the next day its nope that ain't gonna happen. Thought he was walking good enough to go ahead and take him and chance him getting by the grader at the auction barn. He came close of getting thru but got caught right when exiting the scale if in a like size group instead of being by himself probably would have made it easily. Anyway the grader talked me into bringing him back home said he might get over it. Now figure I'll keep him for my own beef unless he gets it unnoticeable or sell it for a beef. Hate that, knowing how nice a bull he would have been.
