Has anyone ever feed liquid feed in an open through, if so how did it work?

It will work. The cows will slob some out with their tongue, and carry some out on their chin. Just make sure what ever you put it in the cows can't flip over.

Lease place we have had some old fiberglass troughs scattered around they use to do that with. Talked to some people about using them and they said it's just kids of messy and wasteful. The cows drag it out, it rains in them, etc. They joked and said now days you will probably pull up and a wild hog will be peaking out the top at you like it's their waller. 🤣

Just bought some rectangle feeders with 6 wheels on top that will hold around 1.5 tons for $285 ea. Didnt think that was a bad price.
