I am told that there there will be a snow bird shortage in the south this winter. In part, because Canadians have to stay home? Where does this end?

My BIL took early retirement and now self isolates on the golf course. He rented a house in Florida for several more months of golf, but now is reconsidering. Maybe he could feed my cows this winter?

Being used to it they probably won’t see any difference in wait time to get appointments. Kinda like the wait time in the US. I mean, who gets in to see their doctor the day they wake up sick. You either go to the emergency room or urgent care facility. Several weeks later you might see your primary care physician in order to get a referral to see a specialist if one is determined to be needed not only by your doctor but your insurance provider and then it must be one in a group they approve.... only difference in Canadian care and the US is the US is “socialized”by insurance...

I don't know. The two times I went to the doctor this year I called and got an appointment for that day. Nobody else and no time at all in the waiting room. Now the weekend would be different. It is a 65+ mile drive to the nearest urgent care. I have driven by our hospital on the weekend. It looks like they have rolled up the sidewalks. I would bet you get right in at emergency if needed.

Got to thinking about it. Generally this time of the year I see a fair number of motor homes and pickups pulling big travel trailers that have BC plates headed south. I haven't seen a single one. I hope they enjoy the winter.

Well, if everyone would relax about the china virus and realize deaths are way down, they could go on about their daily lives.

Sadly they will not.

Detected numbers are going up but that means nothing. Absolutely nothing. Why? Because each and every one of you is likely carrying something right now. But that does not mean you will get it. That does not mean you will die.

And you might not be a=carrying it at all.

Deaths are way down - which tells me they have run out of people that are dying that they can blame this china virus on.

Seen it on several other continents as well with other diseases.

Just because someone tests that they have it does not mean much until they actually start exhibiting the signs and symptoms.

But, you can drive the fear and control the population because most of them are sheep. That is why a certain people peacefully walked on to trains in WWII and never went home.

Lots of false positives.

Lots of empty hospitals.

Lots of lies from ALL media outlets.

Those folks who used to go south will just have to suck it up and learn to enjoy winter.

Those folks who used to get rich on others going south will simply have to switch to beer from their fancy wines.

In the end we will get back to normal - but only if people start using their brains and not believing the lying media. People are far easier to herd that I would have realized.

My favorite example is the fact that you can fly on an airliner but in some states, provinces and countries you cannot attend a church.

No wonder the term "sheeple" has been coined.

Best to all.

I have a friend who works in the hospital. At the onset of the so called virus, they set up 400 beds to take on the onslaught. Guess what. Max they used was 20. And the virus is mutating and weakening. Our doctors are sick of this whole hoax.

Demand for recreation property and rural building lots is through the roof here. A strong sellers market. My neighbor sold a small parcel in two days for asking price. Everyone wants a hide out for when the apocalypse arrives.

Should I be selling in the north, buying in the south, and then reselling to the surviving snow bird later???

My guess is the monetary exchange rate along with the devaluation of buying power of the U S Dollar would be one reason for staying
home. Give or take a $100 Canadian will net you $68. U S. Now consider the U S dollar has lost in the neighborhood of 95% of its
1913 value. (You could buy an ounce of gold for $25-30). Right now gold is pushing $2000. USD on the world market. This would be
any gold (USA, Canadian, Chinese, South Africa, ect). If my numbers are close then it would seem my Canadian cousins (I have several)
would be paying around $ 2600. for the same amount of gold. I am sitting here wondering if we could trade Chicago and Detroit for
Alberta...............that and how this election is coming down.

Costa Rica announced it is opening their borders Nov 1st - only restriction is proof of Health Insurance covering 50k in covid-19 medical expenses - no quarantine or covid test required. Masks in airport are required and government requests maintaining social distancing and following local protocols. All businesses are operating at 50-100% capacity.

Costa Rica is bordered by the Caribbean Sea on the N.E. and Pacific on the S.W. Literacy rate 97% 12% of adults are bilingual with 10% speaking English as 2nd language and the country is seeking more workers fluent in English.

33rd in life expectancy 80.1
12th in happiness index
Cost of living is 20-50% lower than USA depending on cities compared,

Is the Board now allowing multiple "Usernames"? I thought that this was taken care of a long time ago.

Btw, let the people vote and let them choose. You may be an R or a D? But stop with the people that have different views are bad. There are too many people on here that do not look at facts but only look at the affiliation. I am sure that after all the votes are counted, there will be a lot of consternation from either side.

When was it taken care of? Must have missed that one.

Really sorry about that one, just always nice when outsiders think how we should run our country, national pride, ok it goes deeper than that, if we could only be like them, we have enough idiots that live here that want to change us, national pride, common sense is a better word, but don't worry, we lost the meaning of that one.👍
