Would like to know the price of hanging weight. Have tried to find on the internet and I guess I am not looking in the right places.

One way to get an idea how much the hanging carcass is worth is to take the live price and divide it by the percent yield. For instance, if the live price is $.75/ lb. and the yield is 60% the hanging price would be $.75/0.60 = $1.25/ lb. That doesn't include the butchering or anything else involved in processing the animal. If you want to know how much people are getting for hanging beef someone else will have to help you.

Check Drovers if you want to see some real numbers. Either Drovers magazine (it's usually inside the back cover) or Drovers Online. You will have to register to use the Drovers web site. Then click on "Drovers Market Analysis" and then on "November Indicators". The numbers you are looking for are called "Steer Prices, Hot", for November they have $110.16 per 100 lbs., it's probably higher now since the fed cattle market has gone up considerably in the last month.
