When I went to check the calves this morning, I noticed that several of them had a few spots of hair missing. They are smaller than a quarter and it looks like someone pulled the hair out. A few of the spots have a small amount of blood like something had bitten them. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it mange or lice causing it or what??

Thanks!!
;-)

Sometimes they will find a rub that they fancy for some unknown reason and will loose a spot overnight. The gomer(steer) has rubbed a slick spot on some heifer's tailhead before.
I'd keep an eye on it and see how it clears...should have hair showing in a week or so. DMc

I agree with the Ringworm idea. Although I haven't had a case of ringworm with blood in it, it's possible that it is ringworm and they've been scratchin on it.
