hair loss

some of my aangus cows seem to be losing some hair on the back of their neck. i notice it when they are feeding and are bent over in the feed trough. it seems to be a little pink and scaly where the hair loss is . does anybody have any idea whaty this might be thanks

I would guess either rubbing on the feed ring or lice

I AGREE WITH DUN.
MY COWS ALL HAVE HAIRLOSS ON THE BACK OF THEIR NECKS FROM RUBBING THE HAY RING.

I aggree with both of them. Ours always lose their hair if they are rubbing or lice.

So how will you know if it is lice or not?

If you look very closely at the affected area you should be abe to see them. Also thee may be small yellow or white colored eggs stuck to long hair. Seems the only place I've ever found the eggs is inside the ears on the hair.
