Growth on heifer

I have a heifer with a kind of growth in one of her ears. It is grayish in color and looks to me like some kind of warts. If these are warts, what can be done about them, if anything? Will they harm the animal? Thanks for the help.

Are you sure it isn't a big tick? The color and location sound like fat old ticks. See if you can pull them out.

I took a good look at the growth and it's not a tick. It is about the size of a quarter. Today it looked like it was detaching from the ear. It is a little bloody.

If you can pull or cut it off- remove it and spray a little iodine on it. At least try to spray it with iodine.
