Been grinding feed to put out in self feeder for calves. Just wondering what you all think of mix. 2 ton mix of 4 bales alfalfa hay, 300 pounds soybean meal, bag of ADE, 200 pound stock salt, and the rest corn.

To slow them down from eating it to fast. Put in a self feeder with 30 head eating out of it

TB is gonna want to know what that alfalfa tested at when he checks in..

All of your calves will have high blood pressure and your equipment, self feeder will be eat up and rusted down from all that salt.

Calves range 450-600 pounds. I put the salt to it because they were eating it in 5-6 days

Daily salt requirement for mature cattle is less than 1 oz/head/day. With 30 head 600 lbs. probably no more than 2-3 pound a day of salt and that is plenty.

That's an average of 11lb per head per day if it lasts 6 days. Perfectly acceptable amount for them to eat. Talk the salt out of the mix
