Little late commenting on this but Granddad and my Dad fed ground corn, cob and all, mixed with cotton seed meal, a little salt and molasses. Oh yea, they mixed hay into the grind as well. Can't find anyone with a gin around my part of the country that will mix molasses and for sure not hay.
Last time I tried feeding ground corn (chops) it was mixed with cotton seed meal and 20% salt. Cows wouldn't eat it. So now I just feed breeder cubes and molasses tubs as a supplement to hay.
