How old were they? Specifically that 800 lb heifer. Well done!

09/05/17 was our first fall calf last year. These were the top 1/3 of our Fall calves. I had two freakishly large AI heifers last Fall and kept the bigger of the two. The one above just didn't have the look i was looking for in a replacement. Both from first calf heifers as well.

First 5 were heifers the last 25 were steers. Big sale with over 3500 head sold. Wean/vaccinated sale.

This is the sale I believe.. where are you from?

That's the one. I live about 5 minutes from that sale barn in Locust Dale.

I was planning on putting most of my cattle in that sale but couldn't.

I always tell myself I'm not going to keep a heifer out of a first calf heifer but every year there's one that exceeds my expectations.

That's a bummer, it was a great one for sure. Steers did great but the heifer prices kind of floored a few of us in a good way.
