> dollar at the market These calves are going to the sale barn I take it. If so, you might go with a bull better suited for meat production. Since you are going to use heifers and are willing to spend the money for registered cattle, I would suggest an Angus bull for calving ease and marketability of the calves. We wouldn't use anything but an Angus bull on our heifers for those reasons.
