I sold and old Brahman cross cow that I bought a few years back . When I bought her from the sale barn she was 7 yrs. old and 7 months bred and cleared the ring out , I gave 725.00 for her my plans were calve her out and sell that fall but she did such a good job and tamed right down to where she would follow a feed sack so I thought why not let her raise another calf?? Well that was 7 calves ago, and she still looked as good as she did the day I bought her. she would have a calf about every 11 months some time took a year but she always bred back real fast but I thought it was time to move her on so I sold her, They called her a short mouth and said she was open, hope my bull is ok I was kind of surprised when they said she was open. Will be getting some more checked from that pasture.

I sold a cow I had raised at the auction a few years ago that they also called a 7-year-old, and she also had a good bit of Brahman blood. I did a poorer job of record-keeping then than I do now, so I didn't know her exact age, but I do know that she was closer to 15 than she was to 7. The cow you bought may have also been older than they said if they'd gotten that from checking her mouth.
