Getting that time

I've been known to carry 3 bales at a time with the double speer, but it has to be fairly smooth level ground to keep that one balanced up top though. Easier to carry them 3 wide in a grapple bucket...

I bet my old M Kubota could have done that.
Sadly sold it with my other farm..
Something we had always kicked ourselves in the butts on..
Along with some other equipment..
But also don't live on flat ground!
Oh well can't always cry over spilled milk..
But can sure b*tch about it sometimes..

Been another frustrating day in the hayfield field . My small kubota tractor had the hydraulic lever break off . No time to go get it welded( poor design !) so borrowed a friend's tractor. We swap out work . So raking went good . Hay is thick and good looking ! So we are on bale 22 when my man Donald calls and says he lost a belt on the baler . Can't find it in the baler so it has to be in the last bale. Unroll the bale and it's not there ! So we back track and no tell tale lump or anything obvious that the belt is in a bale . Guess I'll find it this fall/ winter. Call my cousin; come get my baler he says and then he stops . We took the cylinders off and carried them to be repacked . Call my worker to see if he went and got them . So we go get them and it takes 1-2 hrs to get them back on his baler . Didn't check net wrap . Ran for about an hour and no warning ran out ! Good grief Charlie Brown 80 bales rolled , probably another 40-50 to go . Hopefully tomorrow !

Spent the last 2 days moving hay out of the field to the lot and another field to the barn . Moved 90 Monday to the lot at the rented pasture. No barn there . Lot will hold maybe another 20-25 bales . Then Tuesday moved 72 to the barn and stacked in the barn . Let the farm at 8:35 last night . Late night supper reminded me of my coaching days .Hay I put in the barn is some of the prettiest hay we have baled this year . No rain since we baled it . Giving rain for Wednesday. Have another 4 loads , 36 in that field and around 70 in the smaller field . Which will be around 8 loads on my inline dump hay trailer. Sure would love to get it in the barn without getting wet but won't turn down a good rain !

Moved 2 more load plus 2 on the tractor ; 20 total ; to the renter pasture lot . It'll hold another 9 ( load ) on hay trailer. Most hay I've ever put in that lot . Trimmed up some trees around the edges . Getting some light rain . Welcomed , we were getting a little dry .

Never used an inline hay trailer. I'm assuming you load from the rear and push the bales forward each time? Any damage to the net wrap?

Finally! First cutting of first crop in today. Cut Tuesday afternoon, teddered twice Wednesday, and managed to squeeze in about 500 bales in about three hours today. Didn't get it all in though, and what is left just got 1.8" of rain this evening. Ah well, we never seem to have a shortage of bedding material.;)
