I have used gar prophet several times for a while now. And I have had good results with him for growth and carcass traits. Has anyone used any other gar sires with good results. Pros and cons of certain bulls?
Sunrise and momentum, I have used. Good calving ease, however momentum yw has come down. Only thing on sunrise I would like to see better is SC epd. Like both bulls.
My opinion: GAR has chased carcass quality to the point that they've lost sight of many qualities that are really important for commercial operations; such as balanced maternal traits.
Having said that, they've been wildly successful doing it..
