Anyone posting from Gainesville? I was at the outlet mall there yesterday and it's practically deserted. What happened?

Frankie, there's an outlet mall not too far from us and it has a lot of "new" vacancies as well....just more signs of the times. "Change"??? :cry2:

The lady running the Reebok store said business started slowing down 8-9 years ago. The mall has been losing about two business a year since then; already lost one this year. When they opened that place, there would be bus loads of people coming in to spend the day shopping. I think they must all stop at the casino north of the river now. When I drove into the mall parking lot about 10am Saturday, the only place that was busy was The Cracker Barrel. Their parking lot was jammed.

A big mall on the south side of Okla City closed recently. They lost some "anchor" stores, including JC Penney; they're opening their own stores in several locations. I guess recreational shopping isn't as popular as it used to be.
