We own a 97 F250 7.3 Diesel. Its my first diesel truck and I really like it. Yesterday, The parts man says he has a Wix fuel filter for $35, or a GKI for $18. He said the Wix catches smaller particles which is not as important on diesels. Everything is so expensive, I chose the generic. Has anyone any advise?Comments?

I use the generic and change every 12,000 mile. You will find out what expensive is when the water pump or injector pump goes out. Owned several Fords had any problems except old age and high mileage.

I drive an 04 Dodge with a Cummins. I use Mopar filters, change fuel filter every 15,000 miles. I never use generic filters on anything.
