Terry, a farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign
advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge
of his yard.

As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his
overalls

He looked down into the eyes of a little boy. "Mister," he said, "I
want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat of the back of his neck,
These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his
pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.
"I've
got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here,
Dolly!" he called. Out f rom the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly
followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face
against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs
made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else
stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this
one
noticeably smaller.

Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup
began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.... "I want
that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want
that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these
other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and
began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a
steel brace running down both s ides of his leg attaching itself to a
specially
made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I
don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little
pup

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy. "How much?" asked
the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for
love."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

On that same note. Today is national Athiest day. 4/1

Proud to be your Friend!

I've learned....That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned....That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned....That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned....That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned...That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned....That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned....That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned....That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned...That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned...That the easiest way for me to grow as a person
is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned....That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned....That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.

I've learned...That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned....That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned...That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned....That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned...That I wish I could have told those I cared about that I love them one more time before they passed away.

I've learned....That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned....That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned....That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned....That when your newly born child holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned....That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness, and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned....That the less time I have to work, the more things I get done.

To all of you ... It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care.
