Help Support CattleToday:

Hi! Sounds like some questions we have had about Texas Longhorns! LOL. Yes, they are friendly, real people cattle, like to be talked to and pampered. Bulls tend to be docile. Steers can be trained to ride. Easy to work them...horns not a problem. But, there is ONE caveat! Only purchase and select those (ANY breed) cattle from quality breeders who breed for the excellent traits where you can visit their farm and walk amoung them before selecting. Irresponsible breeders may not adhere to "responsible" breeding programs (applies to ANY breed) and may try to pass off to a buyer an animal with an "attitude". Responsible breeders send any attitude problems that might occur to either the generic sale barn or to their freezer. Bill :)
