Help Support CattleToday:

I bought a cylinder seal kit from them at half the price of OEM. After 4 hours run time it started leaking and I had to do the job again with OEM parts. The seals were a little bit different size and wouldn't hold.

Maybe it was a fluke? But that was my first and last experience with their Chinese parts.

Messicks sells OEM parts so only thing different from your local dealer maybe prices.

I should say I bought 2 identical seal kits from Friday parts. Matching bags, numbers matching on the bags, numbers on the actual seals matched, but they weren't the same sizes. 1 seal kit leaked and needed a rebuild, the other is still going (though I have another OEM kit on the shelf in case).

Been reading reviews on fridayparts this morning. Seems to be around an 85% satisfaction rate. Many people, when getting an incorrect part, are sent the correct part free of charge and are told to keep the incorrect part. If that's true that'd be pretty good service IMO.

Messicks was a little cheaper than kubota. But still more than double the prices on Friday parts.

Hoping some others have tried them and will report their experience.

I've bought a bunch of seal kits from this company and have been quite pleased:

That's great but when your out the labor of doing the repair a 2nd time or the downtime of waiting for parts to arrive from China, how much did you really save?

I use Messicks a lot. They have a nice website where its easy to get part diagrams. They are very knowledgeable if you call their parts department. They also will help you on aftermarket items and obsolete parts. Their freight can sometimes be expensive but calling them will sometimes get a better rate. They are not much cheaper than a dealer but some of these dealer part guys don't know anything except what comes up on their screen in front of them.

Messicks also have a bunch of videos where they break down filters and such to give you an idea whats inside different brands. It made me a believer on staying with Kubota OEM oil filters instead of trying to find a cheaper alternative.

thinking about getting tie rod ends from fridayparts and getting the bearing and such thru messicks. I got more time than I've got money at the moment. 😃

A Long? Say it aint so. Lol
This Long just keeps on a going. Papaw rarely did preventative maintenance. Fed with it, cut rake and baled with it. Gonna need a clutch before long. Ignition switch is done done done. Know where a parts tractor is?

I'm trying to talk my cousin into trading me a 7610 in need of some work for the Long. He's using the Long now to feed with.

Things that are external and quick to change I have no problems with aftermarket parts.

Bearings, seals, shafts, friction disc's, etc that require extensive time to R&R I try to use the best quality available because doing the job once with expensive parts is cheaper than twice with cheap parts.

We agree completely on that.
