French and English Charolais

Is it true that there are two Charolais breeds, a French version and an English version?

I have heard this. Supposedly the French is a small version where the English is a large version.

Is this the case?

Here's the address to the OK State University breeds site. There is no mention in the history of the breed of English Charolais. There is also a link at that site to the breed association. Email them with the question; they should know. Good luck.
