I use fire but have bought a couple of bulls that were freeze branded. Brands where gone within a year.

We got our brands from Pittsburg foundry we like them and the folks were good to work with.

L and H is who made our brand. We have branded cattle that have brands for 4 plus years now, and can still see it plain as the day it was placed.

L&H is who made mine, do it right and it looks good and last forever. Shows up way better than a hot brand on black hide.
Use fire irons for brandings but we do freeze brand our horses and freeze brand a year iron on our replacement heifers. Looks good. Like some others have said, L&H seems to be as good as any and we get our electric irons there (build our own fire irons) so it worked for us.
