Foster (nurse) Cows and Calving

Hi All,
I currently have 5 nurse cows. 4 Friesians (Holsteins) and 1 Jersey.
I have been told that most dairy's give their cows between 60 and 90 days off before due to calve again!
Now thats fine but my question is:

When i take the foster calves off at say 60 days prior to the cows due to calve, how do i dry them up without creating problems? Mastitis etc etc

I opened this thread expecting to see pics of your nurse cows and their calves

But yeah, use a dry cow therapy, get it from your local ag supply store. Pretty straight forward.
