Ford invents cable

100 miles on a charge. Well if I head west to town I can make one round trip on a charge with some left over but not two trips. Head east to town and I won't make it back to the house. These things might work for some people but they sure wouldn't work for me.

100 miles is only for a top off charge.
A full charge is from almost dead battery to fully charged.

Full range on that full charge is totally dependent on the brand vehicle and speed driven.

A 2020 Tesla Model S for instance, can travel 310 miles at 75MPH on a full charge.
A fully charged 2020 Hyundai Kona can go 238 miles at 70mph.
A fully charged Ford Mustang MachE can go 285 miles full charge at 70mph.
A Chevy Bolt goes 259 miles at 70mph on a full charge, but then, you're being pointed at and laughed at cuz you're driving a Chevy Bolt.

Still wouldn't work for me. Trips to the grocery store or church would be fine. Which is the most common trips. But to the wife's family it is 200 miles one way. To visit my kids it is 400 miles one way. My sisters or brother 450-500 miles one way.

I wonder how running the heater at -40 affects the range? Or how long can you run the heater while stuck in the ditch waiting to be found?
I was just pondering along the same line... Say one had to make a run from Cut Bank to Fargo (a little over 800 miles) along about
the 10th of January with a minus 10 degree Fahrenheit on the gauge and a wind chill of minus 22 degrees. Even without being stuck
in the ditch minus 10 can be balmy compared to the -40 Silver of which Silver speaks. I suppose the metrics could come into play here
but cold is cold whatever gauge one uses. How much power will one use to keep the ice off the windows and your feet warm enough
to operate? I already have the Sorrels but I can see at least 5 days behind the wheel not counting recharge time.
From the point of logic or national security I think it is a pending disaster if it is put to practice.

Well that's a little better. I can't see it working for much of my trailer delivery.
In 2024 they will have one of those electric Rams ready to go. Its a Ram it will pull. You will be using green energy and not polluting.

Don't know how this comparison will hold up as long as the Brandon administration keeps driving fuel prices and Bidenflation upward with their edicts and policies. Last fillup of the truck, last Thursday was @ $2.84... already higher than the $2.81 point referenced in the article.

At some point - and it's already arrived in some states - TPTB are gonna realize that they're losing $$$ that were generated from taxes on gasoline/diesel 'for road construction/maintenance' and start up-charging EV owners in some manner - whether it's with increased registration costs or taxes on electricity delivered at chargers.

Where does the electricity come from to charge? Who takes the blame for the emissions at the sites of power generation? Transmission and transfer of electricity has losses. What happens in CA when they turn off the power due to fire hazard? Why is the price of oil artificially increased by the current bozo to make other sources of energy appear to be superior? Who wants to own an electric bulldozer or even an electric tractor?

Looks like they could use some competition.

Chev and Ford lovers that want a gas/diesel better buy one (if you can find one) chev wants to have 90 electric vehicle models world wide by 2025 and totally electric only vehicles by 2035
Ford wants 40%of all vehicles sold be electric by 2030 .

Shoot one I'm going to win the lottery and buy all the Chevys. 😍🤑😎 I may let ya'll buy some later in life when nobody can afford any. 😝

Yea Biden said he was going to do that bullcrap on his 10 year plan. 🙄 I was over here like what the heck 10 year plan you get 4 years office. I like diesel and gas personally.
Electric vehicles that drive theirself scare me. I saw one to many in California. I never thought I would miss Kentucky so much in my life, I wanted to cry. I was like please take me back home to Kentucky I want to have a hug a redneck day and drive a diesel truck. 😭😢🤗
