Ford F350 rusted bed supports?

Help Support CattleToday:

I have a aluminum cm on my good truck. A gooseneck brand steel on my farm truck. Cm was on truck when i bought it. I paid i think 3700 for the gooseneck put on its skirted. If your going to beat the hell out of it steel. I really like the gooseneck bed its painted not powder coated. I don't see having truck with a regular bed on it again.

A CM SK bed is $4150 plus installation at one place. $750 to install, so with tax around $5500.

My son bought a c/m bed today( not skirted) for a single wheel Dodge. Bed , install, two tool boxes and trailer brake controller is gonna be right at 4000.00.
Skirted bed your paying for looks not function.
Kinda goes against the idea of a flatbed.

You don't think the boxes in the skirted bed are useful? I have not seen it in person, are too small?

If i was buying one in the morning it would be a gooseneck brand. I have friends who have the steel cm after a year the junk powder coat comes off in flakes and with all the rust under it they look 20 years old. Doors fell of one of them too. I use the boxes on mine.
Will-ro in Tenn. makes a good looking bed too.

Anyone have experience with a Ironstar Barron or Crossfire bed?

Local trailer place has a Barron bed in stock for $3600 installed, another place has a Crossfire for $2550 but does not install.

I priced getting a shop to replace bed supports, $1500 to $2000. Debated trying to pull the bed and do it myself. Tried to check out the underside good today to see if I saw anymore rust concerns, slight amount on the cab. Found the cab mounts are coming aprt, seems like age is getting to my truck like it is me.

If the truck still looks good on the outside, sounds like a good candidate to put a for sale sign on

I think for an 06 it does look pretty good. I am a little disappointed in this truck. I guess it is what it is and I have to go forward from here.
