The cows and calves (just three pairs there that day) are all from the area local to where this Farming in the '30's was held last year, which is near around Eckville, Alberta.

They also had pony rides for the kids, a viewing zoo, breakfast (pancakes, bacon and eggs, all home-made or home-grown and local), and wagon rides, haying, shingle-making, plowing and log-cutting demonstrations. It was a fun day. :D
 
They certainly do, for being born and raised in Alberta. :) Kinda dispels the myth that TL's can only be raised in the more warmer climates, not colder ones like we get up here.
 
Those are a nice bunch of cows indeed, they don't look thin at all. Our neighbour had TL's here and they did just fine... It seems to me that cows somehow "learn" to grow fur to an extent depending on the climate they're in
